Rape Crisis England & Wales is a national charity supporting victims of sexual violence.

Mankind is a Sussex-based support for men who have been affected by unwanted sexual experiences.

 

 

Addictions

 

Breakeven provides free specialist counselling for anyone affected by problem gambling.

 

FRANK is the UK's anti-drug campaign aimed principally at young adults. FRANK provides services for people who seek information and/or advice about drugs.

 

CGL is a social care and health charity working with individuals, families and communities that are affected by drugs, alcohol, crime, homelessness, domestic abuse and antisocial behaviour.

 

 

Bereavement

 

Cruse promotes the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss.

 

 

Bullying

 

Bullying UK provides useful information to children, parents, teachers, adults and youth organisations about bullying both at school and the workplace.

ChildLine is a counselling service for children and young people.

 

NSPCC protects children across the UK and provides a wide range of services for both children and parents.

 

Allsorts Youth Project is a project based in Brighton to support and empower young people under 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or unsure (LGBTU) of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

 

RU-OK? is the young people’s substance misuse service for Brighton & Hove.

 

The Young People's Centre (YPC) is a free space for young people, a safe haven to come and relax, chat to people and volunteers. Drop-in centre for advice on sexual health and counselling.

As You Are Centre is a charity that offers low-cost counselling and group work for people living in Brighton, Hove, Portslade, Southwick, Shoreham, Lancing and Worthing.

 

Relate offers couple counselling, workshops, information on many aspects of relationship and family difficulties.

 

 

Despair and Suicide

 

The Samaritans provides confidential non-judgemental emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide.

Women's Aid is the key national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children.

 

RISE is a charity which supports women, children, young people and families affected by domestic abuse in Brighton & Hove and across West Sussex.  

 

Broken Rainbow is a National Charity supporting LGBT victims of domestic violence and abuse.

 

 

Eating disorders

 

Beat is the leading UK charity for people with eating disorders and their families.

 

MGEDT  ‘Men Get Eating Disorders Too’ is an award winning national charity dedicated to representing and supporting the needs of men with eating disorders.

 

 

LGBTQ Resources

 

Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard - The helpline is a supportive, non-judgemental and confidential space for LGBT people as well as for their family, friends and supporters.

 

MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbians, gay men, bisexual and transgender people. Based in Brighton and Hove, they provide local services as well as a number of national initiatives.

Mind helps people take control of their mental health. It provides high-quality information and advice on depression, bereavement, anxiety and medication.

 

Rethink works to help everyone affected by severe mental illness recover a better quality of life. Rethink's aim is to make a practical and positive difference by providing hope and empowerment through effective services, information and support to all those who need support.

 

Anxiety UK works to relieve and support those living with anxiety disorders by providing information, support and understanding via an extensive range of services, including 1-to-1 therapy services.

 

No Panic provides support for sufferers of panic attacks, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, general anxiety disorder and tranquiliser withdrawal.

Women

 

Brighton Women's Centre aims to empower women in the Brighton and Hove area and promote independence in a safe, women-only space. Services include counselling, group work, open access drop-ins, holistic therapies, volunteer training and self-development courses.

 

Brighton Oasis Project aims to improve the lives and maximise the potential of the diverse range of women, children and young people affected by substance misuse.
